iPhone 8: Everything we know about Apple's super smartphone

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Smartphone enthusiasts and Apple diehards have spent much of the past year anticipating the iPhone 8.
While Apple has yet to confirm anything about its new smartphone, or the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus for that matter, there are rumors upon rumors.
Pulling all of the speculation together can be an arduous task. So we thought we’d help you out.
Here are the things we’re fairly confident we know about Apple’s forthcoming iPhones, including when they might ship and what they might cost.

When do the new phones come out?
Let’s get right into the biggest question consumers have. Most rumors indicate the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will arrive at some point in August or September, while the iPhone 8 will likely ship in October or November.

But you'll see them at the same time
Apple has yet to announce the date for its next live event. But it’s assumed all three phones will be revealed at the same time, despite being shipped on different dates.

OLED screen
Apple will introduce OLED technology, the kind that emits light and has been featured on Samsung and LG products for years, to its iPhone for the first time on the new screen.

No physical home button
There are some conflicting reports on this. But it seems fairly certain that the iPhone 8 will come without a physical home button, opting instead to have an all glass display. Whether or not it features Touch ID is still up for debate.

Facial recognition
The 7S and 7S Plus are expected to retain Apple’s Touch ID component. But the iPhone 8 will come with 3D facial recognition that could replace it altogether.
Apple is about to supersize the iPhone. But the iPhone 8’s huge 5.8-inch display is only one area which is going to be bigger than before
The new phones will be pretty big
The iPhone 8 will be Apple’s biggest yet. It is a 5.8-inch phone. Meanwhile, the iPhone 7S comes in at 4.7 inches and the 7S Plus will be 5.5 inches.

Screen-to-body
The iPhone 8 will feature the highest screen to body ratio of any smartphone.

Dual rear cameras
Both the iPhone 7S and iPhone 8 are expected to have dual rear cameras. The latter could come with upgrades.

Wireless charging
All three new phones will be compatible with wireless charging. However, you will likely have to purchase a wireless charger separately.
No headphone jack
Just in case you forgot, the Apple is done with the iPhone jack. All three new phones will come without it.
Upgraded speakers
In exchange, consumers will get even better speakers on the iPhone 8 with a better stereo component.

The new iPad Pro comes with ProMotion, technology that offers an adjustable refresher rate.

Faster processor
Not surprisingly, the iPhone 8 is expected to feature the fasted processor to date along with its advanced A11 chip.
Larger battery
The iPhone 8 is also expected to have the largest battery yet for an Apple phone.

Price
Some rumors have suggested the iPhone 8 will cost nearly, if not more than, $1,000, while the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus will be a more affordable product. That seems insane. But who knows, it is Apple.
People will still buy it
Most industry analysts predict the iPhone 8 will break smartphone sales records, which may make it hard to obtain one (which is why the price tag may be so high).
