Is Amazon Echo Show worth your money?

THINGS THAT PLEASED

1. The 1st thing that this device perfected is the slightly tilted shape that allows a better interface for the users. It has blocky geometrical corners and a pretty wide screen that earned a lot of appreciation. The shape is somewhat unique than the regular speakers by Amazon Echo or similar brands.
2. The image quality is very clear and despite the fact it has 1024 by 600 resolution which in my opinion is somewhat low. Nevertheless, the textbook contrast Is sharp, coloring is good and soothing to eyes.
3. It has 8 speakers on the top so that Alexa can hear you even when you are across the room or at quite a far distance.
4. Although it is mostly voice operated, the wide screen allows you to glance through all the details of the search instead of waiting for Alexa to read it out to you. For instance, if you want to know the forecasted weather for the week you can just look at the screen for a minute than hear it for a much longer time.
5. There is a new feature that Amazon Echo introduced for the 1st time is the “drop in” function that allows anyone within your house or anyone in your contact to pop on your Echo Show screen whenever they want without any approval at all. There is a warning that someone is looking in with a green signal and that person’s screen will freeze for 10 seconds and in that time frame, you can deactivate it. Now it does sound like an invasion of privacy but it can be useful in many ways as well too, like keeping an eye on your children with their nannies when you are in the office or checking on your pets, etc.

THINGS THAT ARE JUST PLAIN USELESS

1. The enormous shape of the speakers is just plain useless. There are many speakers which are smaller and more portable.
2. The screen allows literally no function at all. You can’t scroll through things, not even YouTube. It just plays the 1st one in the playlist without giving the user opportunity to select one. This makes the huge screen pretty useless, to be honest. This device is strictly based on voice commands only.
3. The sound quality is not up to the mark. Many reviewers called the sound to be murky. There are speakers with even less money with a better sound quality than this.

Overall, this device is pretty basic, to be honest with no extraordinary head turning features but if you still want a trendy outlook on your bedside table, Echo Show isn’t that bad of a purchase.
